God is with us.

He has a plan I cannot comprehend.
He did not come with thunder and lightning as I hoped for.

He performs miracles.
He was not the healer I prayed for.

He is faithful.
He continually held her hand.

He always loves us.
He will never leave us.

He did not do all that I asked for.
He did all that He promised.

God is with us.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

The Best Vacation Ever...

As a child my parents took us on many family vacations. I would have to say that those were some of my favorite childhood memories. My 1st airplane ride to Denver, trips to the cabin, the Grand Canyon, family camp, Disneyland, Sea World, a drive to Michigan, San Diego & Coronado Island. I am sure there were many more.

In May 2006, our family (now 15 instead of 5) went to Coronado Island. We stayed at a beautiful beach house for an entire week. All 15 of us cooked together, ate together & played together. We played on the beach. My dad built a sand sculpture with the grandkids just as I remember as a child. The kids buried him to his neck in sand and he loved every minute of it (ok, maybe not the sand in his ears). I enjoyed watching the waves roll in and finding sea shells. It was very relaxing. We also went rollerblading & went for walks down to the historical Hotel del Coronado. We even took an adventure to San Diego on a ferry boat to go shopping at Sea Port Village. Another day we spontaneously went to Sea World. My sisters & our husbands enjoyed late night poker, talks and a lot of laughter. My mom & dad read the kids their favorite bedtime story "I Love You This Much!"
After the whole week we spent together, no one wanted to leave. Our family is truly unique, we love eachother and have fun together.
I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents. They have created such amazing memories not only for their children but their grandchildren. This was a family vacation that we will never forget. I hope we have many more family vacations. I cannot thank them enough for this time we shared together.

The only book I read that has more than 100 pages is the Bible. Well actually that is the only book I read (besides with Kyla). I wasn't going to do this meme until I opened up my Bible to read the chapters for my Sunday school lesson this week and it was Exodus 12 - 13 (pages 121 - 125).
So here it is Kelley...
1. Grab the book closest to you.
2. Open it to page 123.
3. Scroll down to the 4th sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 5 sentences.
5. Post the name of the book and the author.

Exodus 12:30 - 35

30. Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.

31. During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested.

32. Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me."

33. The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. "For otherwise," they said, "we will all die!"

34. So the people took their dough before the yeast was added, and carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing.

35. The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing.

Author of Exodus: Moses

Author of the Bible: God

I am an
Echinacea

What Flower
Are You?

"You are a health conscious person, both your health and the health of others. You know all about the health benefits and dangers of the world around you."

This is ironic since I was on the phone 1/2 the day today with my insurance company, billing office and doctor's office. I apparently exceeded my preventative health care benefit for the year and they will not cover any of my colonoscopy. My preventative benefit is only $250 per year. That turns out to be ONE doctor visit to prevent getting sick, but if I get sick I can go to the doctor as often as I want and just pay my co-pay. I hate insurance!!!

P.S. My colonoscopy results were great...no polyps! :)

  3. I fall asleep watching movies --even good ones :(
  4. I like to clean and organize
  5. I am a germaphobe (goes with #4)
  6. I married someone who likes to clean even more than me
